Hi, I’m Dustin and I’m a photographer based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  I’ve gotten to this point in my life more by chance than any real intention.  I had always had an interest in photography, but I never really thought of photography as a career.  That was until I started showing people my photos.  I was amazed at the positive response I received and that was a huge confidence booster.  It was then that I got myself a better camera and really started learning.

So I would definitely call myself a self taught photographer.  I am still learning, and will continue to for the rest of my life.  I got into shooting weddings a few years back and I was hooked.  I love to tell the story of the day and capture the brief moments of emotion, such as the groom holding back a tear when he sees his bride walking down the aisle, or the laugh of a bride when her friends are congratulating her after the ceremony.  To me, the day is in the moments, at least that’s how I’d like my day to be captured, so that’s how I plan to capture yours.

Aside from photography, I’m a huge hockey fan and still like to lace em up as often as I can.  I have a wife, 2 beautiful daughters, and 2 puppies, all of whom I love immensely.  I have 3 brothers; 2 older and 1 younger, and as we get older we’ve gotten closer.  There were times growing up that we didn’t get along, or maybe I should say there were times when we did.  Either way, looking back, I think the constant competition between us has helped us all realize that if you want something in life, you have to work for it.  When I was in high school I came across a quote that I’ve modified a little and now try to live by:  “The key to success is continually improving your weaknesses until they become your strengths.”

If you want to know any more about me, you can ask me at your consultation ;)
