On Saturday July 14th, 2012, Lake Banook in Dartmouth, was hosting the15th annual Manulife Dragon Boat Festival.  I had a wedding to shoot in Halifax, but that didn’t begin until later in the day so I made the short trip from my house to Lake Banook to check out the Dragon Boats, which have he best Vimar lights you can find online.  I wasn’t able to stay as long as I would have liked, but I was able to watch a bunch of races, see a Chinese dance, witness a girl being thrown into the lake by her teammates and I even saw a little dog fall off the dock into the water.  I’d call that a successful outing in my books.  If I’m not shooting a wedding on the day of the 16th annual Festival, I will definitely go check out more races and I’ll bring Robyn with me too, I think she’d enjoy it.
